AVOLA

Avola is a municipality in the Syracuse's province of about 31,500 people.

The city overlooks the Ionian Sea, in the Gulf of Noto and it's characterized by the peculiar historical center with a hexagonal plan. The site on which it stands is particularly happy, has a mild climate, and the city extends between the Ionian sea and the Ibleian mountains: so you can take advantage of the many free beaches and some equipped beaches, with characteristic fine golden sand and clear water, and you can enjoy the freshness of the hilly landscape, and go trekking in the nearby Cavagrande del Cassibile canyon.

The microclimate has allowed in the history the cultivation of sugar cane, vine, almond and lemon, products for which Avola excels, and especially in the famous almond "pizzuta" and in Nero d'Avola, originated from the homonymous vine.
